Ai Weiwei • Sunflower Seeds

Four years ago Ai Weiwei, a leading conceptual artist, exiled from and at one point imprisoned in China, for being an outspoken social commentator, installed an exhibit in the Tate Modern by carpeting the Turbine Hall with millions of porcelain sunflower seeds, each one intricately painted by hand by 1600 artisans.

In this film he talks about his motivation, and goes back to the Chinese city of Jingdezhen to meet with some of the people who created the seeds for him.
